The results of the Innovation Competition have been announced

On December 21, an event on the results of the Republican Innovation Competition held jointly by the Ministry of Economy and the UN Azerbaijan Delegation was held at the Baku Business Center.

The Innovation Competition organized with the aim of fulfilling the goals of the UN Sustainable Development Agenda, encouraging innovation, as well as supporting the implementation of the "Azerbaijan 2020: Vision of the Future" Development Concept and the "Strategic Roadmap for the production of consumer goods at the level of small and medium enterprises" is an innovation in our country. It is the first event held in this format in the field. About 200 projects covering economic, social and environmental fields were submitted to the competition through the "Idea Bank" of the Ministry of Economy and "ASAN service".

Speaking at the event, Minister of Economy Shahin Mustafayev emphasized that in recent years, the integration of Azerbaijan into innovation processes, implementation and promotion of measures ensuring the transition to the innovation economy have been included in important strategic programs and documents, including the "Azerbaijan 2020: Vision of the Future" Development Concept and the Strategic Path covering various sectors. It is reflected in the maps. A number of goals and directions of these documents are identical to the UN Agenda for Sustainable Development until 2030, which reflects measures to encourage innovation. Pointing out that the competition was held in order to further increase interest in innovations, Shahin Mustafayev emphasized the importance of such events in terms of stimulating the activity of innovative subjects and increasing their efficiency, creating the necessary conditions for the development of small and medium-sized enterprises within the framework of innovation infrastructure, improving the scientific-research base and developing the personnel potential of innovation activities. . It was reported that for the purpose of organizing the competition, a commission consisting of state institutions and representatives of the UN was formed, a number of meetings were held during the past period in order to promote the competition and educate the public, and the "Idea Bank" platform of "ASAN service" was used to simplify the acceptance of innovation projects. Noting the importance of the Innovation Competition, Minister Shahin Mustafayev said that such events will be held in the coming years.

Ghulam Ishaqzai, the resident coordinator of the UN in Azerbaijan, spoke about the role of innovations and noted that such competitions will contribute to the promotion of investments in innovative fields in the future, the possibility of applying scientific achievements and innovations in various fields, as well as to the improvement of the national innovation system.

Then a video about the work done within the framework of the Innovation Competition, the purpose and importance of the competition was shown, and a joint presentation was held by Reyhan Jamalova and Zahra Gasimova, the author of the project "Rainergy", which received an award at the Global Entrepreneurship Summit held in India, and received an award at the Global Entrepreneurship Summit in India. . The presentations were received with interest by the participants of the event.

The Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies, the State Service for Citizens and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan for the coordination of joint measures for the annual organization of the Innovation Competition, which is held in order to ensure the continuity of activity in the field of innovations, to collect, evaluate and reward ideas and projects. A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Agency and the National Academy of Sciences. The document was signed by Minister of Economy Shahin Mustafayev, Minister of Transport, Communications and High Technologies Ramin Guluzade, Chairman of the State Agency for Service to Citizens and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Inam Karimov and President of the National Academy of Sciences Akif Alizade.

At the end, diplomas and awards were presented to the authors of the first three projects announced as winners of the Innovation Competition, as well as the projects that aroused great interest and received an incentive award.
